Has anyone had a go at trying to get the later twin-point mini front rad to fit in behind the front panel?

The twin point rad is a lot thicker than the MG Metro one people including self use.

My car is built from a twin point shell so no problems with the front panel. The alternator is not too much of a problem to move/make smaller but the oil filter is the bit that might prove difficult.

I used to have a thim metro rad in the front of my clubman estate but I can't see it fitting behind a round nose front end? Unless anyone has done so?? Me (But it is a Carbon Front)! aah well there you go......of course in a grp/carbon flip front there is loads of room. But in a steel fronted car? Not so much, hence wanting to try and fit the front mount rad in if I can.

cant see a remote filter setup being that hard to make up. im just going to use fittings from work and sort something out all being well.

I can't see there being any chance of the metro radiator fitting in a steel front round nose. Even in a clubby it was pretty tight and needed the grille support panel cutting back to fit the fan in without fouling the dizzy. I had the thicker MK1 rad with fan in a steel front many years ago with a lot of cutting so might be worth a try! On 5th Sep, 2011 Vegard said:

Hmmm. I really want to avoid chopping up the front of the car as much as possible hence me thinking about the twin point rad.
