A very good example........Black 1983 MK1 MG Metro Y reg





52,000 low mileage for one of these cars & being a MK1

Full service history all receipts, although metro book only stamped upto 30,000 odd miles, after this a local garage carried out the servicing (all receipts)

Mot'd to May 18th 2009

Tax'd to end Sept 2009

Engine runs well, not thrashed, smooth gear change, pretty much perfect

Good solid bonnet/boot lid/front spoiler

All panels/wings/door/bonnet/boot ORIGINAL, no pattern parts

Paintwork buffs up well, hasn't lost the shine like alot of black cars after a period

Half tank petrol to get you home

Overall this is an attractive car which has received quite a few compliments

Some areas tatty which needs attention

Filler to passenger side wing which I am re-doing as the previous owner's finish is a little poor (this has now been done)


***Sill drivers side (see pics) welding needed for next mot*** (my opinion)

Passenger side door-bottom (see pics) & a couple of other small areas need tidying up

Generally a sound 26year old roadworthy car with minimal work required......rolling restoration

***I haven't had the car up on ramps to check the underneath completely but would welcome any inspection***

Not sure how long jack will keep the ad up though as he banned my son Russ, I'm his mum.

Sure I realise that which is why I asked Jack (metro owners club) to put an ad up for me on his site as everytime I tried to register on MOC to post the ad myself my registartion was rejected as I did not know Jack had banned my ISP, which was previously registered by my son.
So I emailed him & he said he will put the ad on MOC for me, which he didn't.
Don't know what the problem is?

The ad was on MOC but in the members only section to stop mini engine hunters finding it.

Yes we did but it needed one clean-up!
It was a spur of the moment buy for my son who is 17, then he got an insurance quote for a new driver.
Need I say more!!
He already has a tuned 998 so he will concentrate on that now & drive it for the next couple of years, so the MG is going.
It is a lovely runner & well worth the money, as you may remember the price I'm asking is the price we paid.

The car is listed on ebay 2nd time now, first time it did not reach the reserve of 450.00, despite having 73 watchers only 3bidded.
I had alot of offers PX etc & alot of compliments saying....blast from the past/don't see many of them etc.
I have re-listed as a buy it now or make an offer, had a couple of insulting offers.
I have 50 watchers watching the buy it now?...what are they waiting for....
Will see what happens, but I may cash the 6months tax in & sorn if nothing happens in the next few days.

You dont want to swap it for a Porsche 924 do you?
Though it wouldnt be much use as a first car..

As much as I would like to say yes, it's going to have to be no.
My son's going to keep his 998 for a couple of years now until he can get the insurance down.
