I thought i had blown the Head gasket at Combe out it turned out to be a bent exhaust valve on 4.

New one in place and ready to rock for the weekend!

Cheers to Mr Morspeed for doing some overtime to sort it out at such short notice..cheers Simon!

No apparent reason, i have ran the same head deck clearances etc for along time, maybe the guide got to hot and gripped the valve. The piston did the damage but hardly a mark on the piston. A new 30mm stainless valve was fitted the the guide re-reamed to size..sorted!

Jon when your head was last off and the guides replaced did you have the seats professionally cut again?

I ask because I had the same thing Num 4 ex valve kept bending, (3 times in a row) this was I think because it wasn't seating in the seat 100% flat and was making the valve move to the side a little every time it seated, this in turn might have heated up the guide through the extra side loads on it and it made it stay open, and the piston came and bent it. As the valve was marked an pitted on one side, with the other side smooth like normal.

I say this as a few days after it happened again and I thought like you the guide was a little tight, so I had it machined out a little, as you can see it made NO difference.
