Make sure you're behind an anonymous proxy first.

yeah just use a proxy server of some sort, eBay will have no chance of matching IPs then.

Are you deffo sure the bloke is being a cunt, as there are sellers who have a few of the same item and just use the same listing over and over. It was only the 26th after all

As others have said, make sure you use another IP address or at least a proxy server

In the HTTP Proxy field enter the IP adress and port info for any of the servers on http://www.samair.ru/proxy/ and you should be good to go.

What this does is routes your web traffic through another server. It would be analagous to sending a letter in a self adressed envelope to a friend, who then takes the letter out and puts it in another self adressed envelope and forwards it to a third party. As far as the third party knows the letter came from your friend. The only way they could discover where he got it from would be to ask him.

So your friend in the analogy would be the proxy server and the third party eBay. Similarly the only way eBay can find out where the connection originated from is to contact the owner of the proxy server and request the logs from his machine. Since the servers are typically based in China or Russia or somewhere equally unenforcable the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

One thing to bear in mind is the proxy server could be anyone and all the traffic you send through will be visible to whoever owns it, so DON'T go logging in to your online banking through a proxy!

To revert back to your original settings ie. no proxy/direct connection, just go back to the Manual Proxy Configuration page and select no proxy.
