Hi there, I'm the new guy, just introduced in the turborised mini world, but not in the mini world...I've got a re-bored to 1396 cc mini metro engine on a austin mini 1000. My first question is: It's possible to have 1396cc !?! I mean, this is what's written on the registration card! I have my doubts...

If its got 74mm pistons on std stroke , itll be 1399.
If its got 73.5mm pistons on a 82.3 stroke, itll be (I think) 1399.
Doubt its 1396. Only way to tell is whip the head off and have a measure.

Welcome by the way

Paul

I seriously doubt it!

The biggest problem you'll have is getting the compression ratio low enough. If you want to go low ish boost you should be ok

Ok, thanks guys. Next one is: with the engine idling, there some smoke on the engine bay, should I be worried about? It's like have a leakage from the exhaust. Another thing, when I push down the gas, I can hear perfectly the turbine, but I can't feel the punch of it! I mean, the turbine is spinning, but the car doesn't want to go fast as it should! This worry me a little...turbine problem? Carb problem? Exhaust leaking? What's happening guys? I'm in your hands!!
Thanks a lot! *hehe!*

I shouldn't worry too much about the rgistration card being correct. For instance 1071 minis were in reality not 1071 cc if you do the maths.

But 1071 sound better!

Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph
