You can barely see the bracket at the right of the master cylinders here.

The masters do NOT have to be removed. Did this answer your question?

The steady wont come with a plate to replace the master cyclinder mounting plate. I think you are getting confused, do you mean LH as in passenger side?

LH and RH are useless terms as it depends on where you are viewing the car from. Some would argue that left and right should always refere to when viewing from the driving position, but this is just confusing when looking under the bonnet.

Steering wheel side is off-side, passenger side is near-side. As long as you know if the car id LHD or RHD, and it's no good for single seaters!

Photos might help, I'm confused what you are fitting.

Sorry that's what i meant, you should always use the terms as if you were driving the car. Threfore the steady he is refering to should be the one that bolts to the thermostat which is why i'm confused.

If you are fitting a steady to the thermostat end of the engine then you will need to remove the blanking plate that covers the spare holes on the cross member.

Depending on the heater pipe routing etc and whether there are holes in the engine steady bracket I would then re-fit the blanking plate on top of the engine steady bracket. Ideally use gaskets at every join.

sorry for the confusion guys, ok ive been looking at an ultimate steady from wood and pickett that fits to the off side (drivers side) of the engine which replaces the original.
the steady i have been looking at has a similar plate to the master cylinder one.

so does this completely replace the original plate or does it sit over the top?
hope this helps?

im confused it turns out then!! i thought this steady was for the left hand side when facing the engine. my bad
just the plate on the far end looked like the master cylinder plate.

does anyone have any problems fitting these as when my engine was in before it seem as though the air pipe from the turbo would get in the way?
thanks for clearing things up for me any hoo
