Stole this from another forum, don't know any background or history unfortunately but it is an impressive bit of failure!

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Not sure what the engine was - I doubt it was in a Mni, the picture came from a rallying forum.

Wonder if he noticed it was down on performance slightly?

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

Northern Ireland (ex AUS)

I know a story where an alcohol burning blown drag car popped a head off an intake valve during a run, normally this results in complete destruction as the spark lights up the entire inlet tract including the fair few litres of charge in the supercharger. On this occasion nothing bad happened other than a slight drop on power, the head had got nipped up against the spark plug and closed the gap then got jammed up the port! Lucky!

sallys gap. garden of Ireland

this happened to my last year with my brand new head from stuart gurr.

hence now turbo power.

it happened after a down change into a bend. valve snapped at the waist and took the piston and engine with it.
ill get a pic up

Seeing as we dont know what engine its from, how do you know its 16 valves, could be 20, 24 or 32. Thats why I said four valve*happy* *tongue* *wink*

It is not a Subaru piston. There are vague remnants of 4 distinct valve cutouts. Subaru pistons arent like that.

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Omega Subaru pistons do have four cutouts, they look like those to me and the rods aren't standard.
