I think putting a 165 on an 8 inch wide wheel is stupid and dangerous.

Agreed. I think you'll probably struggle to get them on TBH.

hey all, im half way towards making 10"x8" wellers and im unsure if anyones done this on 165 tyres. im adding 2" to the outside and recon its gona be a pig fitting the rubber to them, anyone know what its like or done this before? cheers i once supplied just the rims only for a lad who was to have his own centres made up,[thats another story]lol. he wantd my 3" inner ans 4" outer, my early &" rim combo acctually came off the spinning machines and maeasured 7 1/4" wide the pair, as most will know mine and other 10" wheels mount the rims on the back face of the centre , this lad had his centres machined to have the outer rim sitting on the outer face , ,this made the overall width 7 3/4" wide, but as he was runnig in road modified had to use the yoko 008 165 tyre, so thats what he did, i dont know if he put tubes in or not but he certainly used the car for a few events up here in the Yorkshire area, he was a cabable and hard charginging driver so the tyre /wheel got no sympathy, , he had no problems at all, although on the face of it , it does sound a bit dodgy but appears from what ive seen not to much of a problem, untill you encounter plod who has other ideas, carl carl |
