998 I would not advise useing that type for high pressure hydraulic fittings. The pipe used is not suited for that kind of application.

Are you saying that Goodridge are telling us porkies, when they say that their 600 series hosing is suitable for brake and clutch aplications?

So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

Not at all, it depends on the application intended.

600 hose is all good. As I never knew what the application was for I counceled caution as operating temp range came into mind I have suffered the uncomfortable situation of being blasted in the face with full system Hydraulic pressure after an inappropriate pipe failed due to temp fatigue.

looks like one of these badboys are the way forward:

http://www.endeavourinternational.ltd.uk/e...CFQsMGgodBD9mUQ

quite a few guides on youtube too, but all seem to be 1"+ diameter like the sort you would find on plant equipment.

Ive fired them an email to see if they do one for our application.

Why are you so set on swaging lines? If self assembly fittings are good enough for WRC cars, they are good enough for me.

couple of reasons

id like to pedal a few kits locally, and maybe branch out into doing custom lines for kit cars etc,

no one here on the island can really provide this service locally, and there is a huge market for it

the generic kits out there imo is massively over priced. i paid £80 for about 20" of goodridge braided hoses for my volvo, if i do 10 cars on my own during my lifetime, ive near enough broken even.

im not saying the diy compression fitting jobs arent good, they are what i currently use myself too

just if im going to do it properly, may aswel get the proper kit first time round

Joey you need to speek to Alan at Beachgrove Engineering, that's where I got all my braided pipes made to suite and he gets tapped up for custom components from as far a field as SA..

He will send you the bits or complete pipe with what ever fittings you want.

Surely any hose supplier could recomend crimping gear ?

Then you buy their hose and ends. I know Earls can sell crimping tools etc.

As for DIY ends...strictly speaking, Im sure they are supposed to be a MOT fail.

Correct most braided hose with the nylon inners fail the snatch test.
