i'm in the process of changing over the turbo and while i'm waiting for bits to arrive i've taken the head off, it all looks ok to me except for a bit of carbon build up on the pistons and a bit on the valves-is it ok to clean this off with a wire wheel? ““A turbo: exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it, witchcraft happens and you go faster.”” - Jeremy Clarkson

I would simply use some petrol, and a stiff brusg, I would not use a wire brush as small bits of the wire will break off and go down the piston bores On 15th May, 2009 TurboDave said:
