Hello all. I am looking for a bit of advice, I have read through the search topics regarding steadies but this is a little more specific than anything I could find. Right! Before I break pieces of engine and gearbox off is this an acceptable way of securing the engine but still allowing a little movement so as not to break the bolts etc?

I have replaced the original top steady with an adjustable alloy one with solid rose joints either end(Specialist Components Race steady). The bottom one is again adjustable (Specialist Components Touring steady) but this one has a poly bush at the subframe side and a solid rose joint engine side, I have shoved the top of the engine forward about 10 mm and things seem ok at present, however, I haven't had the car on the road as yet as there's till a tonne of work left to do, so do you chaps think it will be ok? or do you recommend a different approach? I would rather sort it now than later.

Cheers boyz.
Andy
