I was looking at a KKK KO3 in a scrap yard to day for very small money it was on a 20-- SEAT IBIZA looks like a nice little unit I could not see any A/R on it but looking online I found a Compressor map and it looks close to the GT17.

Has anybody looked at these are they any good ?

I'm thinking of buying it and having a better look in side one of the VAG forum and it looks like they have a 360 bearing as standard although I take what they say with a pinch of salt.

that compressor map is good up to 130 bhp ...is that enough ?

it makes around 190 on the 1.8T engines but becomes very inefficient at around 12-14 psi i believe....that doesnt mean its good for 190 on our engines though!!

if you can find a cupra r then they use a K03S and are more efficient at the higher boost levels.

i know of one first hand that is running 253 bananas. and was running at over 25psi (idiot didnt know his wastegate signal line had come off) ran like this for around 5 months....! turbo is still good but it cant of been very efficient up that high!

I thought the 04's were on the higher output VAG units?

they did a k03, k03s and then the k04 which is a bigger unit. Not sure of the exact differeces between all the units though other than the k03s are shite on higher boost

I got a kkk turbo off a rover engine at the scrap yard to make a gas turbine jet engine project......This never turned out to be as good as i expected. It was to small for a jet so might stick it on a 998cc instead.
