On the way home from the yard I came acros a stranded mini MPI. The owner said it had a fuel problem that had just been sorted but the car had just cut out.

On looking under the car there was a massive puddle of fuel. I towed him to my friends workshop where a quick snoop around found that the seals on the fuel fitting that clips into the fuel rail behind No. 3 cylinder were shredded.

Anyone know where I can get these seals from I keep getting told its a main dealer part only. I dont know this chap but I want to do my best to sort him out.

id tell him to take it back to whoever had just 'fixed' it tbh

i bet rover k series fuel rails prob have similar seals

Well he phoned back saying the bloke held his hands up saying Mini's were not his thing and offered a full refund.

Then asked if I could carry out a repair.

Well I'll give it another half hour then im out the door if I dont get the bits today its not going to happen Until next weekend.

Got it all sorted Alan down at beachgrove handed me all his seal kits and said 'get it done and ill work it out later'
