This is pretty impressive

How do they eliminate the lag on that monster turbo ?

There must be some nice electronics going on with the upshifts

What's the guessing on the rev band for this motor ?

Im guessing, but it sounds like they are using launch control which usually works by retarding the ignition whilst the brakes are on. So you can floor the throttle on the line without over-revving the engine.

That would also create a bit of anti-lag as well.

Aye got anti lag/launch ctrl on mine, normally font get full boost till 5k, but with that enabled even if I bog down to like 3krpm it maintains full boost!

If you want to see the backround of big turbo 4pot cars www.hondatech.com is a good resource!

yes most impressive, And Jims correct, i've tried it, and had boost off the line, all that happen is the cabin fills with spoke and you go no where as there is just to much for the little wheels to take.

Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

Nice one !

Making some educated guesses on the translation ?

max rpm 8500 - max power 8000 rpm

5 speed with air shift [ presumably sequential ]

I'm impressed with their openness on publishing so much info on their site - I know it doesn't tell the whole story , but still nice ...

Does the speed of the upshift itself negate any lag between gears , or have they got some fancy anti lag / boost recycling going on as well ?
I'm particularly interested because the biggest problem with my proposed turbo application [ Speed hillclimb ] has always been the constant up and down gearchanging . This is why Turbo's have generally not been used with any success .
I'm looking for ways to eliminate the worst of this

you fit a "clutch switch" so each time the clutch is depressed a lower rev limit is enabled, this meens you can keep full throttle between changes (poor gearbox) but keeps the turbo spooled.

Yes Denis Poor gearbox, that's another reason why i don't bother, but then again you have a nice non A series box :) so you can!!

I do this on the DON, usually only 3rd to 4th, it definitely saves a bit of time as I've compared it on the data log both doing it and not doing it.
