Just got a clutch for the van. Sticking with verto due to costs.

Picked up a BNIB GCK151AF clutch kit for £25 link below.

http://www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?ty=pb&pid=32713

Just wondering what will be the max power/torque this clutch will take in our van.

We are looking at running less than 10psi with a decent intercooler.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I bought one of those for my 998 turbo. What a pile of shit!

The plate was ok, but the spring was so weak that it slipped worse than the old 70k plate. After much faffing I found the strongest spring I could in the garage (scientifically stood on each one to find the stiffest) stuck that on, no problems since.

I have a feeling steevie did this years ago and managed to get the verto to work at some very large bananas.

What spring is this? The ones in the friction plate?

Mike what does the robert setup cost?

I've had a quick search but couldn't find the thread.

The other thing to worry about is that the standard cable may not be able to cope.

The spring is the 'fingers' on the big lump of metal. Not the plate.

Ah roger dodger. So we want the strongest fingers we can find. Have you found the limits of this clutch with the better spring yet?

Not reached limit yet. Running less than 100 bananas though.

Being realistic I think we should only be aiming at around 100 nanas in the van.
Any more and I suspect we will start compromising economy and reliability.

I am sure that's a Valeo pressure plate. When i went into Minispares on Saturday and saw it on display I even asked the question and was told that it was a Valeo. Or do the AP plates come built useing the disc under the rivets?

How would I identify if its a Valeo plate?
And are they worse or better than AP plates?

Search for a thread called 'Clutch thoughts' Thats where roberts clutch is in, But I dunno if it will be of use because its really aimed at the high power guys and is as heavy (pedal wise) as a grey cover. I would say go with a proper Metro Turbo vetro set-up just to be safe.

"So wat we gonna do tonight Brain?"
"Same thing we do evernight Pinky!"
"Try to take over the world!"
