will 10" fit? i thought they needed grinding with a stanard caliper, i would imagine it would eb worse with 4 pots?

genuine question, not trying to be clever or anything,

i think they might fit with 7.9 discs, anyone know how a mini handles on 12's and advantages disadvantages?
12's and 10's are about the same size with tyres anyway arent they??
cheers

i see, fair enough, i reckon your right. funnilly enough 10, 12 and 13's are all almost exactly the same rolling radius, if anything my 13" are actually smaller!

handling wise i wouldnt have thought there was an awfull lot to choose between 10 and 12, if the car's suspension is set up properly, everyone raves about 10"s but i think they are probably the most forgiving rather than the outright best by miles. just my 2p

size is not the main thing, more the quality of your tyres and suspension set up,i always go for 13s they look more agressive.

you need to modify the 4 pots a fair bit to get em under 10's. mine fit inside 10" wellers easily, but they've had a fair bit done to em. i'll put a picture of em so you can see just what needs doing to em. just as soon as i've installed photoshop to resize the photo a bit :)

12x6 is what I run on my road mini.

Pros:
1) They look good (nice and wide)
2) They work well with the A539 tyre
3) Good value (A539 £40 -£45)
4) Handles a treet.
5) Fit over any brakes

Cons:
1) You will need bigger arches and mods to the front wings.
2) that's it

i guess the difference in handling between a 10x5 and a 12x5 will be almost the same cos they are the same width aswell as similar diameter with tyres.

I don't think the 10s will fit over the brakes you want to use.

My personal opinion is that the Cooper S setup with some decent fast road pads and a set of 5x10 Minilights is hard to beat for an all round looks-handling-brakes combination.

i love the look of 10's and i love the cheap tyres may be i'll use the hubs and do the fiesta conversion then i could sell the calipers on ebay for shed loads, they are "turbo" you know *tongue*
can you get decent fast road pads for mk1 fiesta calipers?

10s rule *happy*
I just love my A008s shame they are almost bald *frown*
but I'll be replaceing them with more A008s

the weight differnce between 10s and 12s is around 5kg a wheel with tyre *blush* and boy can you tell the differnce
it pulls better ,looks better ,handles better and the tyres are cheaper as a bonus *laughing*

and after a flash flood when going to meet Bud666 my confidence in A008s in the rain has vastly improved *blush*
to the extent theres not much difference come rain or shine when it comes to roundabouts *laughing*

ARGHHH!! i hate making decisions like this, i keep changin my mind, i think 10's are the way to go, mine is on 10's and it just 'feels' better than my girlfeinds which is on 12's but then i have sporty tyres negative cxamber etc so there is probably no comparison, well if my brakes ever arrive in the post there might be some metro "turbo" calipers for sale, starting price £70 !!!!!! *tongue*
