Hey, Ive been given the chance to buy a metro turbo engine. The guy who is selling it has used the turbo somewhere else but is willing to throw in a weber that is jetted for a 1380. So my question is will a turbo engine run alrite with a weber on it?

Also i know it depends on heaps of things but if an engine is rebuilt some years ago and has only been driven around the block a few times and just started here and there should it be rite or will it need another rebuild eg. gaskets etc. ?

Thankyou

Blake

This has been covered many times, search. But as I am nice, the engine will run fine N/A, can't vouch for the webber though.

The engine will be a bit of a lottery really. Impossible to say.

might want to find out what the compression ratio is on it. if its low then it might be worth sorting another head for it to bring it back up for N/A form.

at least then if you want to go turbo you can slap the other head back on and you have the a decent compression ratio for it.

Don't think of a turbo engine as special, they are basically a 1275 motor with sodium exhaust valves and a different cam (if it's all standard).

The Webber jetting at a guess will be all wrong.

Why not just sell the Weber on eBay?

It should make you enough cash to buy the turbo gear, or at least help somewhat.

The turbo engine does and runs at lower CR.

Lower than what?

The standard Metro turbo CR is 9.4:1. Same as a lot of standard N/A A+ 1275 engines.

As covered a million times the internas are standard too. Read this if you want the full story:
