A bit of a long shot i know, but I am after a pair (or just a minisport passenger side) Alloy 4 pot callipers for 7.9" vented discs.

Minisport, Minispares or KAD...

Thought I would ask here in case anyone has upgraded, before I start looked at new..

whats the story? nipple housing cracked?

surely minisport could replace the damaged parts cheaper than buying a new set? i thought they manufactured everything 'in house'

at leat thats what they claim?

had em done with a M10, but it not sealing due to a kinda chip in the seat, nowt more we can do with them. They do seal with a small rubber o-ring but it makes bleeding em a complete pita.

Thus looking for an alternative.

I spoke to minisport today actually. Spoke to a proper arsey chap, and he said he does not have any of these "old style" ones in stock any more. The new ones are extensively re-deigned and they want 280quid for a new set.

bummer

are you sure theres nothing else that can be done?

Whats about plugging the holes, turning the upside down (swaping sides) and starting again, is there enough meat on the 'bottom' to machine new bleed points in?

how about wealding up and starting again?

im that tight, i dont even want you to spend money!! got to be a solution?

post a pic!

You can get 'bleeder repair' kits just for this. They screw into a 1/8 NPT or 1/4NPT theaded hole that you machine where your damaged bleeder was, and then thread in this magic unit...
I've used them twice now - once on a cooper S caliper (these are awful for having threaded bleeder holes) and once on a truck brake caliper.

I am certain that a $15 part can save the day here....

At that price, get two... Handy to have on the shelf just in case you ever need such a repair...

I've got one of those pipe expanders at work. they are ok, but they do take some force to expand the pipe!

A good compressor and gun is needed with them IMO.

It might be just be our one at work but its doesnt exactly give the cleanest epansion that you would find on a system.

i would prefer to get it done properly but as a quick fix they are good.

Those expanders are really only good for thin stuff - 1mm stainless for example will break it into tiny pieces. Where they are best - is for 'cleaning up' existing diameters which have been squeezed by exhaust clamps - like the LCB y-piece into the main exhaust for example.

im planning on making something similar :)
