Hey guys, These seats i think look amazing but apparently you cant fit them in a mini. Im hoping that its just boll*cks because i really want these seats.
Has anyone got them in there mini?
tried & failed fitting them in there mini?
or got a civic with them in to take some measurements for a rough size up?

Last Type "R" I looked in the seats were massive. I think you would struggle.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

I looked a while ago and thought they would be too big to sit correctly - at £500 I'd say there are better options

Agreed metro turbo seats are shite...and bloody heavy!! I had them in my mini for years!

For £500 you get get a pair of nice bucket seats! Are you wanting recliners?

Yeah dc2 type r and ek9 type r (i think the dc5 type r seats are the same) are REALLY supportive and comfy! not the lightest but still.

they are expensive though!!

I want recliners. But i think most of the civic type r seats are just too big to go in a mini, unfortunatly (and too heavy). My brother just mentioned the old renault 11 seats. He has them in his drag mustang and they are small and dont weigh anything???

I've got MX5 seats in mine, narrow, relatively light and recliners as well

I always liked the size and proportion of the 205/309 GTI seats in a mini

wow i love the look of the mx5 seats. They remind me of porsche seats, real racer looking.
What are they like height and width wise?
Coz ive got mk1 ive got that big pocket on the door. Plus i wouldnt want them too close to the headlining *smiley*

I've just finished building the subframe to fit them so will take some photos at the weekend;

Paid £40 for the seats and £105 for a leather re-trim kit and £25 for hogring pliers and rings; now got fully retrimmed seats for under £200
