We use CAF substitue head gaskets with no re inforcement on some of our refrigeration compressors and they see 18 bar when operating and 28 bar on the odd ocassion. Nothing wrong with CAF gaskets, other than the asbestos content if it is indeed true CAF Edited by Sprocket on 1st May, 2009. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

It will be CAF substitute, I just use the old term because.... , well I am old! In this case the gasket is quite thick (0.8mm) and the "land" where it failed very narrow, and no bolting in that location. Overall bad design My cynicism comes from in my industry (power generation) we went away from plain CAF in favour of metaflex for anything but very low pressures ages ago. Mind you, we have serious temperature to deal with as well. Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |

I find the easiest way is to super glue the bolt to the end of one of my fingers. ______________________________________________________ |

But your logic is sound - Last thing I sprayed in celly was red but when I started using 2K, I ducted the suction filter to a "vent" outside the garage so I could use the compressor for breathing air too (air fed mask). So that red is about 5-6 years old.... But it does show how crap the air filter on the compressor is :) Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ??? |
