Hi all

Now, if i have got the right end of the stick, Slark Racing are to launch a new super charger setup at Crystal Palace on the Saturday of the London to Brighton run.
The demo car is still being worked on now so all being well it will be there on the Saturday for all to see and have a good nose round.
And from what ive seen, it looks like a brilliant setup. Its taken the best part of 18 months to develop and is a real contender to the Vmax title.
Hope to see some of you guys there on the Saturday.

Take care

Johnny

Very interesting news! Do you have any more details? Is it suck through or blow through? Still using an M45?

I'm looking to supercharge mine this year, and Slark are my nearest Mini tunning place :)

Its a suck through running a megajolt kit and an intercooler. It will be on display at Crystal Palace not Brighton as we left it a little to late to get a stand because we didnt think it would be ready now. I will be down at slarks over the weekend setting it all up and getting it ready. It is a nice setup

me too, but as I'm not planning on doing it until christmas, I don't want to make a nuisance of myself now by asking slark loads of questions about it!

Is the setup installed on your car Jonny? I thought you were going with a blow through after your vmax M45 weber kit sold.

Sounds like an interesting kit though, I didn't think suck through kits could be intercooled at all due to fuel pooling issues.

Think i may have spazed out!! It is push through. It is very easy to confuse me. The fuel is put in after the blower. It is using the Eaton 45 blower with the intercooler. It is being fitted to my car and ive had the engine built to accomodate the blower by Brian which included proper pistons, removing the decompression plate and opening the head out. We havent run the engine yet. Its be sat on the bench under wraps at Slarks for a bit while we had the engine bay sorted and replaced a few things. Thats why im spending all weekend down there helping out, but generally getting in the way. Sadly, we missed the boat getting it on a display at Brighton but were lucky enough to be offered to display it for the day at Crystal Palace. Its nothing amasing. Just a chance to let mini fans have a look and the plan is that Neil wants to do it in kit form in the very near future if the response is good. My plan is to get it featured in Mini mag and try to get it to most of the big shows but without Neil coming along, i wont be of great use answering any technical questions!!
He has made a very trick kit with some nice technical touches to make it all fit under the bonnet. I hope the feedback is positive and he gets the kits sorted for people to by or have installed, if he can find the time!!!

Sounds very interesting Jonny, I take it the charger is mounted on the front of the engine now above/in place of the alternator?

Cant wait to see some pics :)

Yep. That and the cooler are in place of the alternator which has had to be plumbed in somewhere else. God knows where

Just to point out it wont be in Brighton on the Sunday as we havent anywhere to display the car thats why we are going to Crystal Palace on the Saturday. There will be plenty of pics on here after though.
