Recieved my dizzy and module off ebay today, thought its the mk2 type and not the mk1 style I wanted.

I only really need the ignition module...............will the mk2 module work with the mk1 dizzy?

should do, there is a lead that converts the connections i reckon that makes one work with the other

Why not just use the mk2 setup you have bought complete rather than try and convert it??

Cause the mk1 dizzy has the curve modified to work perfect with 1380.

Might have to chane it though Tom, so ordered a cap and a rotor arm for it just in case. Are these the same as the n/a mg metro electronic ignition caps and arms?

Aah right fair enough didn't realise you had the curve changed in the Mk1 dizzy.

The cap and arm are the same as the late MG Metro cap and arm, which are also the same as the carb'd early 90's Coopers as well. They are easily available, the cap fits to the dizzy with 2 screws.
