Not a mini I am afraid. I have helping my mate put together a Clan (grp shell with Imp running gear). Today it went on the rollers for the first time. It was the first time I (or the rolling road operator) had mapped using megasquirt so it was quite a morning. In the end I drove the car and did the tuning and he operated the rolling road. It is quite scary to start with. I wimped out when we upped the boost, convinced it was wheel spinning or slipping the clutch. It turned out it was just more powerful than we expected and was just accelerating the rollers bloody fast.

Anyway, in the end it made around 120 bananas @ 10psi and was a sweet as a nut to drive. Injection is so nice to tune, why do I stick with a 5 port head.

Some photos

Ignore the high power reading the rollers were playing silly buggers.

The 2 are not mutually exclusive.

Wow that looks awsome!
That sounds like a great result from a small engine.

I have to agree that they are not pretty from all angles, but they do drive very well.

I've still got a 998cc (wet liner) Imp engine sitting in the corner of my garage - it was a hard decision when I decided to start my project 18 months ago whether to go Mini or Imp..... (I've had both in the past).

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

All 3, Clans, Ginettas and Davrians are really hard to get hold of and expensive (they were when I was looking 2 years ago) and the only worthwhile shape Imp shell (fastback Stilleto shape) are also rare now and the only ones I could find were totally rotten....

Hi Matt,

This is the guy that Wil and myself have told you about in the past. I think he and his cars would make a good feature for retro cars. He has three clans. The white one on the thread just posted, a green one (pictured below) and a ratty blue one that he used to commute in until recently.
