bit of a long shot, but i know a few of you are parts hoarders or run them as second cars!!!

Im in need of either a n/s caliper or preferably a pair of calipers from a midget to rebuild to use on my daily driver of the moment, (actually a A35 - its great!!!)

Anyone got any kicking around?? quite happy to get ones in need of a refurb......

cheers peeps,

Pete

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

Whilst at it, could you please measure the distance between the caliper mount holes?

Having a ADO16 project you see.. :)

Vegard - the centre to centre distance is 3.25 inches.
You have reminded me that the old 1100/1300 range used the same calipers and I used to be able to find them in scrapyards, but not any more !!.

Aha, so that's where the link is. I'm dying to find something that can make me throw the swinging calipers in the bin.
How does the Midget caliper compare to the Mini 8,4" one?

Midget ones taste sweeter and are more succulent.

If my memory serves me correct the pistons are slightly bigger than the 8.4 ones, and the castings have a bit more meat on them. If you want I'll get you a couple of photos, unfortunately none of my cars have 8.4" Mini brakes so I can't do any comparison shots.

It does sound as the early 1100/1300 calipers might be better than the later ones..

rob h, pm heading your way, thankyou!!

V, the pistons in these are exactly the same as in the 8.4" mini brakes, as are the seal kits for the pistons!!
