na engine + turbo + boost = ya hewwww

Change the carb to a turbo one, and change the presure reg to rising rate

This is the basic of the basic get serching it all here

You need the turbo specific fuel pump and reg. The NA carb can be made to work but needs modifying.

And if you need to be using the Metro Turbo plenum

WELL IVE GOT A TURBO JET ANd needle. possibly the regulator. its a rising rate holley but doesnt have the vaccum nipple to sense boost. maybe this is why. fuel pump is plenty of grunt

na engine + turbo + boost = ya hewwww

Rising rate is nothing to do with referencing boost or vacuum.

Rising rate is when the pressure rises with increasing flow. Something the Chavs use on otherwise standard cars to increase fuel flow at the top end.

very intresting Paul, so what is the name for the turbo type reg boost sensing reg ? or is there another name for it :)

Carb shouldn't be a problem if you are using the metro turbo plenum and have the right gasket with all the right holes in it.

Pressure reg needs to be boost sensing

An interesting point about a misused term (I often call the proper ones "rising rate" myself).

The technically correct term would be a "differential pressure regulator" (because it maintains a constant difference between fuel pressure and the manifold pressure) - but how often do you hear them called that ???

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

thanks Rod taught I was going mad I have always called them Rising rate ( now obviously incorrectly) but like you say everyone I have every talked turbo with have always calledd them presure regs full stop.

Rising rate has nothing to do with flow.

The reg flows its maximum at the lowest engine outputs.

Rising rate does refer to the reaction between intake pressure, and fuel pressure.

Even n/a regs are referenced. So they will maintain a lowish pressure level when vac is applied...but as its withdrawn, FP will not increase linearly as it would with a 1:1 reg.

By rising rate..they mean it isnt 1:1 ratio

Stevie is right.

My description is a little incorrect. The rising rate regulator dumps more fuel in when you stomp on the throttle, but returns to normal operation under cruise conditions.

na engine + turbo + boost = ya hewwww
