The Stig..

Newport Pagnell

2nd round of the Drayton Manor MG Metro Cup. Qualified 2nd on the grid 13 thousandths of a seconds off pole, the top four were split by less than half a second.

Pole sitter had a clutch issue on the warm up lap so pitted and started his race from the pitland, so pole for Flan.

Good start, leading in turn one, my closest rival was well on my tail for 3 laps but he developed a transmission problem from his Swiftune/Quaife dog box combo so that left me out ahead.

Kept the pace on for a lap or so then eased off to save the car/tyres for the rest on the race, saw second place man No.7 Tony Howe in my mirrors but kept him at bay to take the win.

Phil at WWW.TURBO-MINI.COM can add "racing winning cylinder heads" to his portfolio.... Cheers Phil.

The next rounds are at Brands hatch on the 30th and 31st of May, on the programme is the "Euroboss series" that is old F1 cars so should be a treat.

See some of you there!
