Went out for a short drive this evening, and the above happens. Part throttle works OK, and it comes on boost, but any more than that and it just bogs down and goes nowhere.

The history of the car:

1293cc, T3, Dizzy + Boring old carb.

RR'd at Baldwins, then used daily for 1 month - then taken apart and sat in bits for 2.5 years. Now back together.

Starts fine, and using the choke makes no difference (altho does make a difference to tickover and the initial small press on the throttle).

So, any ideas?

Hehe me too!! probably shouldnt take my advice actually, anyway take the dashpot off the top of the carb with the three screws. undo the plastic nut on top and drain all the old oil out thats in there.

You only need to put oil into the "tube" the dasphot piston goes into. Use a funnel or something to get some oil in there, dont need to fill it all the way to the top, just so that you feel decent resistance when pushing the piston back in ooerrr.

I use 20w50, but my car doesnt work so you probably shouldnt do anything i've just said.

if you can make sure the piston inside carb is moving freely. it musst be dead square and a smooth slide... most likely dashpot oil anyway.

na engine + turbo + boost = ya hewwww

Stoke-on-Trent. Duck.

Long shot as everyone's suggesting carbs and this could be a red herring, but I was scratching my head a few years ago on this;

"crushed" air-feed ducting to the turbo. OK part throttle but was restricting the airflow at anything above half throttle. Thought it was fuelling at first, turned out to be the pipe was kinked badly. "Airing" rather than "fuelling" suppose you might call it (though still technically fuelling...)

It's an easy-ish check to make (if you can get your head down there), even just to rule it out.

Dave.
