put in a cage? is the boot floor missing? i.e. nothing there or is it a carbon replacement? i wouldn't have said inner front wings were cruicial, I personally think thats a bit harsh! "Cars are a lifetime of pain" |

From what I have read boot floor replacement is a grey area.

Your problem is that anywhere you take it will see it's new fail on the computerised system. You need somebody who has tested it before with those mod's.

He's a nice guy - passed the last frog no problem, and isn't charging me for the test due to abandoning it.

Hmm i can see why he failed the rear? Maybe an ali plate or something would help? sealed and rivited? maybe? but a different test center would be best? Did you ask him what he'd like to see back in there?

I'd say it definitely needs some brace bars at the front to appease the tester, also at the rear to replace the removed subframe section. As much as anything else- why not go talk to the tester and see if he would be happy to pass it if you did these things?

Fucking annoying! I thought as it was OK when tim had it, I'd be OK. Cant help getting annoyed, if I'm putting brace bars in, I may as well flip front it and what not. Sigh.

Asking the Tester what he would like to see to replace the "missing strength" would be what I would do.

i would have thought brace bars and a brace in the rear subby would be enough and easy to do? Crystal Sound Audio said:

I've just dropped it off with another MOT tester - friend of a friend. It's booked in for tomorrow. I shoewd him round the car to see if it was even worth putting through.

I thought the boot floor would be an issue, ali sheet all the way, or a carbon floor?

A guy local to me had stolen a road sign and rivited it to the outer sections of his boot floor to cover up his hole.

I'd fit something in the boot no matter what. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

secure some ali plate over the boot floor, add a brace bar, get the pass certificate, then on the way home the parts you just fitted accidentally get *stolen* out of your car, and what a shame its back to how it was before On 25th Sep, 2009 mini13 said:
