Looks Like A Air Con Pump To me

Got A GTM With A Honda In the Back, and huge Nitrous bottle where the passenger seat should be when racing!

Don't know nothing about the car, but didnt think they came with aircon.. saying that it could be a jap version makes sense though!

may be referring to the japanese shaken(sp)which is like a massive MOT test where all safety critical components must be replaced regardless of condition every x years? it keeps there economy in new cars stimulated(you get a goverment loan for new cars with negligable interest), and creates a massice export market for cars that are due the test but the owners dont see it worth there while to put the car through.

Where can I get some of this kit ? I am looking to going to the Med next year and have been toying with the idea of aircon for a while.

That car is a very late Japanese SPI.

They got the new MPI casting and a coil pack based spark system but retained spi injection and side mounted rad. I believe this was so they could get the AC pump in there.

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.

All the car's destined for Japan had air con. The majority get exported out when they hit an age/mileage due to the strict japanese regulations. A fair few end up in the UK again.

I think it was also a factory option in the UK, but would have been expensive.

Minispares sell the compressor, so they can probably supply the rest.

Father inlaw has the Japanese air con system in his mini, very very good, adjustable blower speed and temperature. Mother inlaw has John Cooper aircon fitted..... On/Off thats it. Seen a few Jap minis turning up on Ebay they look good for the money.
On a 1330 engine the power sap isn't that noticable.
