Can anyone help with what vehicle this comes from as I need to get spares. (motor case 70mm Dia). I think it's a Brise one, as in they make a convertion plate for a standard starter and then flog it as a Brise one, unfortunately I'm getting no success from them at the mo. (no ref No's or markings at all).

Gav Have you looked at honda? one from a Honda that rotates Anti Clock like d series or B series, as when fitted on an a series it will be going the correct direction, and they are quite small light etc.

It does not look like either my Cambridge nor my Brise starters

yeah the brise starters are similar to those fittted to mr2 turbo's and some subaru impreza turbos. the starter pictured looks different :S

EDIT if you have a local friendly alternator/starter reconditioning place, perhaps they can identify it?

I seriously doubt it!

Can you just get it welded up? Or is it internally forked?

Ill try and grab a picture of a couple of honda ones this weekend, as im actually going to be in the workshop for the first time for a month!!!
