well after mutch head scratching and renewing parts over the months i still couldnt get the clutch to feel right, it kept getting worse and got to the stage were you would put your foot right down and you could still here the idler chaterring away and couldnt get reverse gear.

Nice one mate, good advice, most people over look the plunger. Best 1/4 mile 13.2 seconds @116 mph

yep took her for a spin and f@ck me she feels like a modern car now with that sort of peddal feel, why didnt i do that earlier always looking for them bigger bunches of bannanas |

I too made a "clutch revelation", I used 5.1 fluid in the clutch hydralics on the race car, it made such a difference with full on shifts.

The metro turbo as standard actually has a fibreglass type heat shield between the slave and the turbo, I've only ever seen one (I still have it) though as I'd imagine most got binned, and they only went on the early cars.

There was one on ebay recently I thought about bidding on it TBH but it looked a bit nasty.

I seem to remember looking at fitting it and deciding it wasn't worth the bother TBH!

From memory I think it needed lumps cutting out of it to fit in a Mini.

Great advice hogster. The single biggest difference i made personally was fitting the heavy duty Clutch bearing. Same thing feels like a modern clutch now. |
