Hi can anyone tell me whether the oil thrower is necessary on a K series? Being a dry belt setup?

Is there any oil to throw there? On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:
Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem. |

Can you get away with blocking off the oil supply to the area? |
