Shropshire.

Went to move the car for the first time today after the build is finally nearing completion.

Selecting reverse was very crunchy and once in gear (managed it once) the revs dropped away stopping me pulling away.

Now the clutch pedal does sit a fair distance below the brake pedal, and there isnt very much movement in it, could this be the problem?

if so how do i get round this?

cheers.

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

make sure the clutch slave is traveling aall the way out if not bleed the system
if it still does not could be a goosed master cylinder ?

also check the large nut on the clutch plunger on the cover is not restricting the full through.
it the two checks out ok your problem will lie in the clutch department ,

just adjusted the nut on the clutch cover and its allot better, actually got the car to move, cheers chaps.. but still crunches a bit when i select reverse, is this normal?

also feels like i need to fully depress the clutch for it to engage, again normal or should a bleed it again?

thanks again

give it another bleed, if you can put a pipe from the bleed nipple back to the resovoir and pump it fairly quickly and repeatedly, air tends to flow back up to the high point and can be tricky to get out.

also tripple check the little bolt that is behind the arm in the wok, there should be the tinyest amount of slack with the slave return spring disconnected and the arm pushed away from the engine to take up all the slack.

Do you really need one of those springs for the arm - slave cylinder?

I bought one but theres nowhere on the SC where I can hook the other end of the spring to!

not really no, infact i always leave them off, make checking the clutch much easier!
