After a great run down to brighton this weekend without any issues, i was driving to work this morning fine as normal. stopped at some lights went to put it into gear and the clutch pedal was rock hard. couldnt select gear and it was cutting the engine. i managed to select first by stamping on the clutch and keeping the revs up. ive had a look and the slave and master cylinders seem to be working ok. any ideas? starting to get pissed off with this car, doesnt seem to be able to complete a run without something going wrong.
Cheers

its std 1275, yeah spent more time in traffic then at brighton. was a good event but think they over estimated their ability to organise 2000 minis through crystal palace. were you there?

lol, yep the trafic was a bit sticky.

ok I was thinking thrusts, but thats probably not the case if its a std plate.

have a check of the nut on the end of the wok, could have vibrated in so limits travel?

failing that pull uit off and have a look.

leading on from chinleswonders recent thread could be primary bearings?

i think i might do that next year, it was hardly a run when we were sat in traffic most the time and screw having to get up at 4 again cos some numpty feels the need to move his car so early. i would have enjoyed it more is i wasnt so bloody knackered lol. i was really impressed with the turn out though

Problem solved, whipped the clutch cover off lastnight and instantly saw that the flywheel retaining bolt had come loose and worked its way against the diaphragm plate. its been a lucky escape as there is no damage to the thread in the crank. it was my own faul, forgot to fold up the the edges of the washer behind the bolt. im just glad it isnt anything terminal as the girlfriend is pissed ive stolen her car for the last week.
