As title really, whats the difference between a Milling machine and shapping machine??

In a milling machine the tool rotates.

In a shaping machine the tool reciprocates, usually horizonatally. Usually just used for creating a flat surface.

Yeah shapers cut in more of a sawing motion. They are handy pieces of kit if spaces is limited, but very slow to use in comparison to a mill.
