OK, I'm now at the stage I'll be painting the engine shortly.

The colour scheme on the car is metallic grey with a maroon roof and satin black exterior trim.

the thoughts for engine colours are:

BLACK is the only colour for real engines red ones just leak oil and brake its FACT.

Depends on the car and engine. My car orignaly had a pre a plus, so it's engine will be black. If I was building a later car it would get the colour it should have been...

If you paint it red you are on your own with the gearbox build! Out of the limited options black gets my vote... although bmc green is the only real colour.

i dont see a problem with red as long as its original A+ red, or black like mine (hides all the grime), or an early engine should be green

paint it pink, baby blue etc and expect a slating from the style police
