hey guys,
my projects coming to and end now,so ive had the engine running a few times, but its running badly, explanation... after realiing my dizy was knackared i swapd it for an old one i had lying around, it was off my N/A 998cc engine, with points. this got it running and after a few tweeks it seems like the timing is just right, but when i give it some rev it struggles, if i push the throttle slowly it doesnt so bad,but when i give it a quik burst it sounds like its starving, my fuel presure reulator isnt mount properly yet so its at an angle, could this be the cause? or shall i look at other things as well as mounting it properly? also ive mounted my pump under the rear seat shelf so its gavity fed, i know that my pump is adequote, its brand new,im stumped, anyonegot any ideas?

thanks guys.

p.s i havent had her running on the road yet as i dnt have MOT yet, but i need to get there to get one, also i read that the boost guagewont show boost if not under load, would that be y it only shows vacum?

Mitsi Evo 7, 911, Cossie. & all the chavs ...... won no problem

firstley Welcome to turbo minis. *smiley*

you need to get hold of a turbo distributor or get your old one refurbished ............. then time the engine in using a strobe 6 deg before top dead centre @ 1000 RMP with the vacuum pipe disconnected.

yes your right the gauge wont show boost untill under load only vacuum on idle, i gather you running a boost vacuum gauge combined or seperate ?

have you piped you fuel pressure regulator in correctley ? ... if you have it would be wise to mount it horizontally......... also what pressure is it showing with the pump running ?

you need to sort the above out first then we can take it from there.....

Thanks Buddy,
and for the fast reply,
its a combined one,ive followed the piping diagrams on turbo mini.com, it starts great first key every time. i havnt checked thefuel pressure as i dont have a guage, but ill get one and check it, nd set to to 4 psi, im running standard with no ecu or bleed valve(yet), the old dizy came with the engine, it wasnt givin out a spark at all, but i could ry it again, or ebay one? the fuel to the carb n pleum signal is tight behind the chamber butnot crimpd at all, the outlet on my tank is he original nozle 5mm i thin but i wlded in a 10mm pipe over it to accept 10mm feed to the filter-pump the 8mm pump-reg, the the original pipes fo th reg-carb and plenum-reg.

il tr n get some picys.
thanks. sam
