Hi,
It's a beautiful day here in the south of the Netherlands, a nice 25 degrees. And yet the problem I had last year is back.
With these temperatures the engine stops once in a while. When I stop and wait a few minutes, the engine starts again and goes without a problem. Last summer I thought it was the fuel that vaporized, so last winter I made a proper return line. Before I had a loop inside the engine bay and I imagined that the fuel stays to long above the LCB and therefore gets to hot. Unfortunately the problem isn't solved. It's only with this kind of wether, 10 degrees colder and I can do what I want....
Anyone any ideas?
It's a supercharged blow through installation with a turbo-hiff and fuel regulator.
How can I find out if it's fuel or ignition?
Kind regards,
Remko

The Netherlands

when you start the engine again does it comes to live straight again or do you need to crank it for some time?

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

It comes to live straight again. When I start it immediately is starts and immediately stops again. When I wait about a minute it keeps running. At least for 5 or 10 minutes....

pop an extra spark plug in the car,

then next time it does it pull a lead off pop the spare plug on and check the spark is still there *wink*

if your running the metro electric distributor it might be the black module on the side.

Hi,

@mini13: it's not possible to put another spark on it, it almost immediately starts again. Most of the time even before my speed is zero. Only when I dont stop the engine and wait for a while the engine will stop every few seconds.

I've tried a few things last week. I cleaned the carb and put in a fuel filter. I improved the heat-shield. I replaced the coil. Nothing of these was the solution. I've got a little more information. The revcounter still tells me what revs the engine is while the engine stops. The cap and rotor are new, so i'm pretty sure I've got spark. That leaves fuel in my eyes....
What can be the problem in the fuel system? I'll try to fit a fuel pressure gauge in it, right before the carb. Hope anyone has ideas!

Kind regards,
Remko

the fact the rev counter keeps working suggests its not the distributor module as i suggested, it could still be an intermitant live to the coil though,

IIRC the coil takes a feed from the starter solenoid, its woth checking the spades there.

I've changed the coil last week also, and with this coil I have exactly the same problem.... That's why I think it's fuel, but I don't know what kind of fuel problem....
