I have recently replaced the Rubber suspension cones on my car and fitted new front dampers to try and improve handling.

The problem I have now is that it pulls violently to the left hand side when i try and give it full throttle. The car drives fine under light accleration.

I reset the camber as well as doing the tracking when i had carried out the suspension mods. as well as measuring from the sill to the floor to set the ride height.

The only difference i have noticed is that the top suspension arm is at a larger angle to run the same ride height i assume because of the new cones.

Does anybody have any ideas? The car is also running a quaiffe diff.

Cheers Ron

where are you measuring the ride height from?

Could be worn subframe mounts

Dosen't really make sense, regardless of what cone you have, the angle of the top arm will remain the same if the ride height is the same.

Thisngs that might make a car consistently pull to one side are:

- play in track rod end
- play in ball joints, ti-bar bushes or botton arm
- play in rack (the joint bit behing the rubber boot)
- uneven caster
- uneven tyre pressure
- uneven corner weights
- finally too much power and large camber roads (but if this is a new problem, then you could probably rule this out)

I have measured from the sill joint to the floor. The subframe is solid mounted.

I'm sure the suspension parts are in good condition as they were checked over the winter.

The main thing I haven't checked is corner weights and castor. However I have never checked corner weights and never had a problem like this before. Will have to have a search on how to use my Ada gauge for castor.

Cheers for the advice Will! I managed to get my car sorted.

On Thursday i checked the castor angles and they varied by 6 degrees side to side.

I reset them to both the same as well as the tracking and the car was a lot better to drive however there was a slight weave still. I was due to be a Pod on the Friday so we loaded it up in the hope i could sort it on the day.

Managed to do a few runs down the strip but it was a nightmare. I Remeasured the sill to floor height and in varied slightly on one side so i jacked it up so both side had the same measurement, took it for a little drive about around the site and it seemed spot on. Job Done!!

On The first run after sorting the problem i gave it a hard launch in 1st gear and it hooked up well, dropped it into second and Bang no drive! I have stripped it today and i have smashed all the teeth of the pinion gear *crying*

Pictures will follow tomorrow!
