I know mate, I think I got off lightly as it was a kick back as opposed to cutting. I know what I would rather be working on lol.

Update time ,

As the shed was done the time had come to go and get the mk1 out of storage at the weekend .

This was the first time the mk1 had been in its new home. I still have got lots of junk to get shot of but it's working at the min.

First job was to make some stands so down to halfords for some cheep £8 stands and some bar job done.

IMG_1557 by simon hepburn, on Flickr

Today and yesterday was looking for all the stuff to build the car 😬 As I have been buy / making bits over the last two years, so I just started laying them out. Much lightness in this pic.

For sure I am going to weigh it 😂 It would be rude not to, saving weight was the key when the new body panels were fitted, and lots were lighted before fitting.

So what did the bodyshell weigh in the end? Did you weigh before or after paint?

Thank you mate,

No I never got around to doing it tbh, but I have some scales lined up to have a look when it's finished. Everything that is fitted back on is getting a going over to make sure it's not full weight.

Thanks mate 👍

Well I was sat looking at the old posts I made on here, and I remember doing the shock mounts in the mud under the tree next to my old house 😂😂

So yes I am pleased 😂 It's not finished yet as I still have to finish the sink, air line plumbing, and the other cabinet I was 1/2 way through making when I picked up the mk1. I did 12hrs in here yesterday all was good apart from the fridge ran out of pop 😳🤣.

Anyway back to work.

"Right guys weekend here again"

Lots has been happening in mk1 HQ at the min, I have just finished for the day so I thought I would update this thread.

First of all was get the engine looked at, so I called Alex at the Car Kitchen to see if he could help me out. So dropped it off to get looked over, long story short I have snapped the end of my main shaft off, wore the bores out in the block, and killed my RTS. So not a bad run 😂😂

The old jk box is still looking very good for its age

Then on to the rts there are lots of cracks on the flywheel and on the pressure plate.

Then it was on to the prep for the build up.

Ok the mkof a car with not much on it, it's taking ages to rebuild lol.

Nicely done on the engine *happy*

I was struggling to upload photos as well but now use the turbomini uploader, can embed the images in the text like you used to do with photoBACket

Mate, I would not be trusting that female brake pipe a few posts above. You have flared it wrong

I seriously doubt it!
