Ok lads,
With my run of good luck I am having at the minute (But I will not go into that now), I pulled the turbo off today and on looking over it there is a lot of oil in the centre exhaust port. So as I have not put valve stem seals. Could this be the problem, also the only new bits in there are the rings and i have not pulled the head yet.

Do you think I can get away with putting valve stem seals on there?

O yes I have booked the RR at S.R.E for Friday at 10.30.

I always thought there was nothing to be gained by putting them on the exhaust side. I would go for 4.

I read on here someone had problems with drawing oil in through the exhaust valve when not on boost. I was always taught use 8.

They only had 5 genuine ones left so got them, also i got 4 cheap ones, so what do we think

genuine ones on the inlets & cheep ones on the exhaust valve.
(i was told that the cheap ones will still let i bit of oil down there)

Ive always used non genuine ones on all of mine and never had any problems.

If you have some of each, I'd put the genuine on the inlet like you say though, just incase the non genuine do start to leak.

Thanks so much mate.

Well as I have booked the Mk1 in at SER on Friday for RR I had a big To Do list, so today I got done-
1. Fit new Speedo cable
2. Fit new stem valves seals
3. Knock up an oil catch tank (for Avon)
4. Fit new rear view mirror
Went out for a test drive tonight and all was good. So not a bad day’s work.
