Hi you all:)

Bought a turbo distrubitor but don't know where the wires go to. I now got a 1000cc with breaker points. Dont know if i need to make a modification to the loom of just getting the right wire to the right pin.

All help appreciated

there is nothing wrong with a A-series that a turbo can't fix.

Use the two outside of the 3 pins to connect to the ignition coil + -, I believe the engine will only run with it connected one way. SOmeone please correct me if im wrong.

Has the ignition amplifier got two or three pins ?.
If it has two, use the search button and you will soon find the answer - its good practice anyway for when you need answers on lots of probs.

If its a three pin amplifier maybe someone will tell me how to wire one as I bought one, having been assured I could use it on a two pin system, but there were no helpful instructions and it lies on the shelf.

I have the wiring diagrams for the two pin type but not the three pin type.

I'm 95% certain that Shane is right in that only the outer two are used on a three pin type.

I'm 100% certain that Tadge is correct in that if you connect it the wrong way around, it's toast.

Although I hate to suggest it, also try searching on MF and TMF, I'm sure I've seen the diagram on one of them...

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I just posted out the connector for a late ellectronic dizzy. 3 connectors in the wiring block, but only the outside ones had a wire connected.

I could not find the info.

Well... Haines manuals are rubbish for wiring diagrams. Excluding plug leads, all models have two wires except for the late ones which have none....

Our metrovan is sat in my garage, I'll try and have a look at the plug tomorrow and see what's what.
