Picked up a renault 21 intercooler off ebay tonight, looked in good nic in the pics, and seems a good shape for a mini.
Has anyone tried one of these before? or any pics?
James.

Have you any pics? One of our apprentices a few years ago had a 21 turbo he was running an Ic which looked very similar to a 5gt one?

no pics yet, its not been delivered yet. It was similar to the sierra cosworth one, long and thin. He had a few measurements on the advert, 600mm long 110mm deep and 70mm tall. I'll post some pics when it arrives early next week.

i think the 21 used the same ic as the espace tdi, the inlet ports are not both strait like the r5 one is

I was looking at this for the metrovan, but decided to just go with R5 as the inlets are both at the top on the R5 one.

Not very sunny swanage

the 21turbos had two intercoolers as standard, so both people above are correct, they have one which looks simmilar to the 5 turbo one, and one which is similar to but smaller than a cossie cooler...... why they used twoand not just use one decent size one i don't know, its not like they were that tight for space?!?!?!

And on the 7th day........... God created turbochargers!

I used one for most of last year, running 17 PSi boost, didn't have any trouble. Outlet side was always cold after running the car in anger, but now I'm switching to a 4wd cossie cooler.

I was using the long cossie type cooler - although it is significantly smaller than a cossie cooler.

Ok, thats good to hear, thanks.
I've cut up the saab hard pipe i've got for the bends to route it around the servo, so it doesnt look too hard to fit/mount. I will put up some pics, i've just been a bit short of time recently.
