Possibly a bit premature as we haven't got the heads back on yet or even any valves in them BUT....

What size IC would work on this engine? 3.0 V6 and it has a T3 turbo

Don't want to run silly boost but while we have it apart it would be rude not to shove an IC on it.

someone must have an idea of how big/small an IC would need to be?

the bigger the better....its as simple as that.

Just exactly how much room do you have ?? Normally that dictates size.

Why not just measure it, then you will know what you can fit in !!!

Well if it didn't have one, anything is going to be better than nothing, but if you want top performance, within reason the bigger the better.

Not if its so small it creates a restriction to the airflow, and doesnt help cooling at all.

I know Tom, and my response wasnt in any way directed like that.

But when somone asks what size intercooler can fit their car, which they have sitting in front of them.....when of course the obvious and easy answer is simply to go and measure it themselves.

Some things seem to have to be spelt out for some people, so there cant possibly be any confusion.

Similarly with that thread and theh guy removing the boost ecu. For someone even contemplating a turbo build....to have to even ask that question makes me wonder !!!

ok i get your point. my question was worded badly.

what i was trying to ask was exactly what you pointed out. the whole thing of, if it is too small it will restrict airflow.

I also don't want to fill the hole in the front bumper as i said before, due to the condenser and rad being in there and not wanting to restrict airflow to them.

Looking at the hole i think if i put in an IC similar to a cossie cooler then it should be ok. unlike a renault 5 turbo which may be too small and restrict airflow.

Bare in mind a Cossie intercooler isnt that big. A 4x4 one is slightly bigger though.

Just fit the biggest one you can.

The TD5 is a very nice cooler, and made for a similar size engine. It is a little n the large size though. *oh well*

Any chance of an engine bay pic?
