Muhahaha, lucky you never said lubricant. or else this thread would have gone into free fall *hehe!*
Halfords semi synthetic.

Here is an interesting bit of info my brother passed over. Apparently in the States its common practice to change oil every 3000 miles or less. One of the chaps he works with said the oil in his 56k motor comes out almost as clean when it went in.

I make sure my oil is changed every 3000 miles, so mine is very well lubricated.

I use valvoline vr1 oil, but mines not a turbo.

As I only do a very limited mileage I change the oil twice a year which works out about 1500/2000 miles.Frequent oil changes are cheap insurance for your engine.
My regular transport is a turbodiesel and I change oil and filter every 5000.
The A series oil is only slightly discoloured but the diesel is black as sin, of course.

I prefer mobil one stuff, if not available I then buy motul 300v,
but then I think that about any good brand is ok, just be carrefull that it's NOT the late emission oil (catalysed ), to be sure they're all 0w or 5w something, 10w50, 15w50 the right ones.

Addatives for gearbox, hmm. may give that avenue some serious thought. How long between changes?

I change it every 5000 km, and the oil viscosity still "thick"and onctuose, not as the over oils I've used, that lok more like water when you drain them.

valvoline VR1 racing 20w50,

we have loads of classic race teams ordering from us for it, and lots of customers who have performance classics.

me best mate has also been using it for over a year and works a treat.
