Hi guys. I want to that my crank sensor is spot on and the timming is correct on the mega jolts. I've put the engine to tdc and the sensor is 90degs off the missing tooth. If I put my timming light on the crank should it read the same as the laptop is telling me the mj is running at or do I need to add somthing?

Also on another note, I always have trouble getting valve clearance set in my roller tip rockers what gap have people found to work?

Yes, the timing light should show the same as the MJ is indicating.

With roller tip rockers it's important to feed the feelers in from the side so as not to roll the roller. Gap should be as specified by the cam. I run 16thou on my Kent cams.

If its slightly out, you will have to compensate in each map value, or adjust the trigger wheel accordingly

Im pretty sure some timing guns will read incorrectly due to the wasted spark. Something about conventional ignition sparking every 2 engine revolutions and the megajolt every 1 revolution so it calculates the ignition advance and ends up showing double.

Does that mean the timming light will read double the number of sparks and there for show twice the Reading on the mj?

Heres a link that may help explain a bit better, i have a sealey timing gun that seems fine and reads same the megajolt, but i have used one that read double the amont of advance.
