paul, as another one of your ventures, have you considered re-designing/selling these?

Personally I would prefer a more conventional mounting, above the damper bracket, but where the inner wing is still double thickness, and just behind the transverse triangular gusset plate.

When I was a lot younger, one of my Minis had a tubular brace bar - just the one, it ran in a single piece from one inner wing, down to and across the front of the subframe, and back to the other wing. So it not only replaced the inner wing strength but also increased side to side rigidity. I haven't a clue who made it (it was a long time ago) but that's what I would like to replicate. Own the day

Back in those days there was no such thing as digital photography - 110 cassettes were the most common if I remember right, 35mm was only for the very rich - and the nearest thing to a PC was a ZX80, maybe a ZX81 if you were flush, and a BBC-B for the rich :) I can't remember how the hinges fitted but I think they were off brackets on the bar, not the subframe. MIne bolt onto the side of the cross member under the top mount bracket and curve round and bolt onto the tear drop mount bolt hole.

I was getting the most amount of flex and subframe movement with the standard items avaiable off the shelf.

The minispares/sport one s are a good solution if you run a side rad. If not there are better solutions as shown above. Fastest 998 mini in the world? 13.05 1/4 mile 106mph

I use the Mini speed side mounted ally rad which is much deeper than the 4 core I originaly had fitted, so they work with side rads too. Own the day
