Just to expand on the topic:

Am in process of rebuilding an 87 unit, all standard (so far). Ive had the head skimmed (7 thou) will the raising compression ratio be a problem? Is getting the head hollowed expensive? Can you use a thicker head gasket and where do you get them from?

From my calculations it will go from 9.4:1 to 9.58:1

IMO the small increase in CR is nothing to worry about provided the boost is kept low(standard). If an intercooler is used even better.You obviously have only raised it a little over standard.

as alexF if you want to know anything about his work *happy* lol!

a few people have used his stuff and he seems pretty good. i havent though so cant pass judgement.

i know a guy that used 2 head gaskets and it worked
