Hey Chaps

Just had a little search on the forum, just need your help on a few things.

I have got the three clock dahs out of a Clubman GT, the smiths ones. Ive connected the Speedo up, and the Temp and Fuel Level correctly. Now for the Rev Counter... do i have to run a seperate earth wire to the rev counter? Am i right in thinking that i have to run a Red wire from the fuse box to the rev counter and a negative wire from the coil?

One last question, on the back of the rev counter, there is Short prong thingy, is this the positive from the fuse box? Or the negative from the coil? Also there is a standard crimp, what do i connect to this one?

Your help is much appreciated.

Fuck knows but I used an MGB one and got a BIG electric shock off it...... Don't get it wrong. It was an HT sized voltage. Whabamm! I won't do that again.

You idea sounds right. Take any positive/negative earth thing into consideration. Although I can't think for the life of me why I got such a big shock, allthough the MG was +earth.

Bugger off, I'm getting there.

Fitted mine today, no electric shock! I forgot that there was exsiting wires, just plugged it in and away it went! Although i checked the RPM with a timming gun and the Rev Counter was miles out. Had to take it out and replace it with a Mayfair set. Works just fine and dandy now.

Does anybody know if the 1275GT Rev Counter doesnt work with a N/A 998cc mini? Does it need re-calibrating? I really like the Smiths rev counter, may try another one to see if it makes any difference.

Cheers

Ben
