I would use modified A+ items.

I hope im right in saying that rod bolts normally go before rods themselves, so i personally think a well work a+ rod will be fine.

i do have rover A+ rod bolts in my twinnie engines, these are now NLA so its ARP from now on,

I'm believe the late A+ bolts were supposed to be ok. Again I remember seeing a thread a long time since in which Carl Austin said he used late Metro bolts in his builds. Whether he has changed his opinion or not since then I don't know. |
